The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), together with the Federal State Budgetary Institution Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, will organize an International conference «Infectious diseases by people with reduced immunity: diagnosis, clinical findings, treatment», which will be held on March 20, 2024 in an online format.

According to the World Health Organization, currently the first feature of the health status of the world’s population is a decrease in immunoreactivity: according to various sources, up to 50-70% of people have immune disorders. And, as a result, there is an increase in the incidence of opportunistic infections caused by pathogenic microbial flora.

The extensive prevalence of opportunistic infections poses a significant medical and social challenge that requires coordination of actions and decisions among specialists of various profiles. Therefore, organizing the conference on an international scale will bring together the efforts of doctors from different countries and specialties in solving current urgent tasks, will facilitate an effective knowledge exchange, and will enhance the quality of medical care for our patients.

The conference is held in support of the development of modern molecular biological technologies with the participation of the world-class Center for Genomic Research for biosafety and technological independence. During its work, international experts from different countries will present their experience in various aspects of epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical fundings and treatment of opportunistic infections, as well as control of antimicrobial resistance.
